Virgil Benge – was Head Basketball Coach at Crab Orchard Ky High School for Three Seasons: the 1971 – 72 season, the 1972 – 73 season and the 1973 – 74 season, which was the last team at Crab Orchard Ky High School.

Mr Virgil Benge was the first Girls Head Basketball Coach at Lincoln County High School in the 1974 – 75 season. Mr. Benge was the head coach for five seasons, then assistant coach in the 1980- 81 season. His teams won the 46th District Tournaments from 1977 to 1979 and in 1979, they were runner up in the 12th Regional Tournament.
