The Lincoln County Fire Protection Districtfirst placed a fire truck at Broughtontown in 1966. There wasn’t any charge for the trucks or service. Before this, the area was covered by the county fire protection district from Stanford.
William Bill Irvin was the 1st fire chief. He was paid a salary and rent for housing the fire truck. Willie Mullins was the assistant chief. Some of the firemen included Peyton Denny, Ray Denny, Clarence Jackson Jr. and
Dale Jackson.

Starting at the end of 1985 and completed in 1986, the New Fire House was built . Loren Sanders and his crew put the building up. Several men in the area helped with the concrete flooring including Lonnie Martin, Edmund Braley, Loren Sanders, Bill Smith, Ron Brown, Dexter Todd, Delbert Perry, Bobby Martin, Tony Todd, Paul Kidd, Huge James Brown and Robert Brown of Rockcastle County.
